Brent C. Gray, J.D.
Associate Attorney
Brent Gray was born on October 15, 1972 in the Dallas suburb of Waxahachie, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Economics from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Memphis.
As a law student, Brent won several awards and had leadership roles in numerous legal organizations. His team won the award for best brief and was a semifinalist at the Wagner Labor Law National Moot Court Competition in New York City. He also was awarded the CALI award for academic excellence in Torts and Income Tax, the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award, the Jerome L. Rosengarten Memorial Scholarship and a Humphreys Fellowship. Brent served as the Associate Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board and Production Editor of the Tennessee Journal of Practice and Procedure. He was a member of the Leo Bearman American Inn of Court, Phi Delta Phi and the Christian Legal Society. He also served as a Judicial Extern for Federal District Court Magistrate Judge Diane Vescovo.
Brent’s emphasis is in leading the litigation efforts of Waterford and has litigated cases concerning a variety of subject matter, including general litigation, trademark and copyright protection, recording contracts, publishing and songwriter agreements, management contracts, wills and estates, governmental program eligibility, real property disputes, judgment collection and general contract drafting and negotiation.
Brent grew up as a “PK” (Pastor’s kid) living primarily in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He has also lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mobile, Alabama and Springfield, Missouri. Brent is a musician, having played drums and percussion for over twenty five years. In his free time, Brent enjoys film, playing music and tennis, and most importantly spending quality time with his wife Tammi and three year old daughter Sadie. Brent is also actively involved at Midtown Fellowship where you just might catch him playing drums now and then.
